Ulysse

Faster veterinary trials, now

Ulysse is the data and intelligence layer for veterinary clinical trials: a searchable, real-time map of the veterinary patient population, connecting practice data to trial sponsors.

In plain terms

Sponsors cannot find the animals their trials need. We can.

The records exist

Every animal that sees a vet is already written up in a clinical note: the diagnosis, the bloods, the medication, the breed and the age.

Nobody can search them

Those notes sit in dozens of incompatible practice systems and scanned PDFs, so trials are still filled through phone calls and spreadsheets.

Ulysse makes them searchable

We structure the records into one live map of the patient population, so a trial finds its animals in seconds and recruits them through their own vet.

Why it matters. Enrolment is a leading cause of delay and cost overrun in animal health studies. Shortening it moves medicines to market sooner, and pays the practice that supplied the patient.
Who it is for

Three sides of one market, all better off when a trial recruits

Animal health sponsors and CROs

Clinical development and clinical operations teams at the large sponsors, and the veterinary CROs running their studies. They get live feasibility counts, protocols tested against real patients, and site selection based on data rather than relationships.

Veterinary practices and corporate groups

First-opinion practices and the groups that own them. They get revenue share, trial income and complimentary benchmarking analytics, which turns research participation into a profit line rather than a burden.

Practice management software vendors

The systems that already host the clinical data. They get a new monetisation channel for data they hold but do not exploit, with Ulysse handling compliance, structuring and sponsor demand.

Owners and their animals sit behind all three: patients are only ever approached by the vet who already treats them, and owner identity never leaves the practice.

Who is behind it

Founded by a vet who also knows the sponsor side

Perle Roche
BVetMed (Hons) MRCVS · Founder

A veterinary surgeon trained at the Royal Veterinary College, and a healthcare strategy consultant at ClearView Healthcare Partners in London, where the work covered animal health commercial due diligence and performance improvement.

That combination is the reason Ulysse exists. The clinical side means fluency in what is actually written in a consultation note, how a practice runs its day and how an owner conversation goes. The commercial side means knowing how sponsors size a market, choose sites and budget a study.

The gap between the two, records that hold the answer and sponsors with no way to query them, is the company. Read the full story.
